For my first card, I used "Happy Millie." I purchased this digi a while back. I purposely chose it because her huge smile could be used for so many occasions and match up with a million sentiments. This sentiment is from Pink by Design's set "Our Kids."
I decided to change up my same ol' same ol' by making a square card at 5x5 inches. I also knew that I wanted to use some of my patterned paper from my Recollections stack called Bold Basics because I LOVE the colors and patterns and don't really use it that often because I tend to think that I need to save good paper. Nope, it's time to use what I have!
I added bling to the flower in Millie's headband because it fits so perfectly and because the challenge was to also use my favorite embellishment. I love the little packs of Queen & Co rhinestones because you get 60 of them for just $1.
Since I hadn't crafted in SO long, it actually took me a bit to try to get this together because all the other plans I had in my head didn't work out. It's funny how even the simple cards can sometimes require a lot of thinking and trial and error! In the end though, I really like how it came out! I think I'll use the rest of that star paper to make multiples of this card.
What a fun card Rachel. I wanted to stop by your blog and say thank you for the lovely comment you left on my blog also. I left some comments on other challengers cards as well, and noticed you had posted a nice comment on them all. You are very sweet for doing that. Good luck in the challenge, if I don't win, I sure hope you do. :) You deserve it!
